We Interrupt this Contest so that I Can Tell More Things About Myself
I've been tagged by dear Megan for the little meme that's sweeping our corner like a particularly tenacious rhinovirus (how many times has some version of that joke been made...). Also, I think I'm well on my way to expanding my "101 Things about Me" to "1000 Things about Me" and this helps it along...
The gist of it: "Mention six things of no real importance about yourself" and then tag six more people--see, it's like a chain letter but more fun.
I'm tagging
Rob
Bob
Sarah
mago
Faycat--and I know you're busy cooking up a storm, but I still want to hear six things about you!!!!
Suzy--yes, yes, I know you're in semi-retirement, but...
and here's some more about me...
1. I've "heard" (through my latest interwebs stalking expedition) that my ex-something-or-other who wrote a bio of the Rolling Stones is now working on his memoirs. I'm wondering trepidatiously whether, if the book is ever finished (he's a notoriously slow producer), I'll be included. I fear I will, and I fear I won't. You know what I mean?
2. I've been waking up at 5 a.m. every morning and drinking really strong coffee on not enough sleep, which sets me up for a nice mid-morning anxiety attack. You'd think I'd have learned by now...
3. Our hamster, Whomper, a scientific oddity, has grown so enormous that he no longer really fits his hamster cage and wheel, and so I must buy him a rat cage. It's not his diet--he's fed nothing but his seed mix, and an occasional broccoli and carrot treat.
4. My morning makeup routine consists of Perfekt foundation (ladies, I can't sing its praises enough), and Benefit lipstick in "Good to Go". That's it, but my crammed-full makeup case would mislead you. I'm a products hound.
5. I love the smell of chlorinated pools.
6. I've had a recent change of heart, and now prefer the subway system to taxis. Two dollar ride that'll get you absolutely everywhere? I'm so glad the MTA and I have been able to renew our vows.

I love the smell of swimming pools too. Liv is on a swim team every summer and the smell of it just makes me feel all summery even in the dead of winter.
And I usually on wear blush and lipstick, but I bet I own about 40 makeup products. And the thing is, even when I wear it all, I look better in just blush and lipstick. (My color is "angelic" although I am not.)
i heart you! xoxox (esp. #1 - TOTALLY get it!)
5 am?
That's the middle of the day for me.
Hamster. Pic. Please? :D
Alas, Buster is no longer with us, so no Buster-Whomper cage match. Bummer.
Outdoor pools yes. Indoor pools not so much. But, we don't really have a ton of indoor pools 'round here, so that might splain it...
Nice little list! Thanks for playing along - enjoy your Wednesday!
I'd argue that everything about me is of no real importance. Look for my list on Thursday.
I love the smell of gasoline that why I keep getting run over.
You sure that Hamster doesn't have a little guine pig in him?
GAH! Product hound. I can identify with that. I use one mascara, one foundation and one lipstick but have a makeup case the size of an international carry on! I had a hamster once but nobody told me I had to replace his water . . .
Weird. That is my morning make-up routine as well.
better to be in the memoir than out i'd say !
but yeah, but prospects are terrifying.
i have a wardrobe of lippies, which i do use but can you explain why i insist on keeping the early 90s blue eyeliner?
Hilarious. The comments too.
Okay, you know I use NO makeup. Thank God because I have no time. Good luck with that stuff!
I like the smell of a chlorinated pool...
boy!
I have a friend in Upstate NY who writes for Rolling Stone magazine. Does that count? If "He" doesn't write about you, perhaps "She" will!
Welcome to the club. I wake between 4 or 5am, have a HUGE cup of strong coffee and start shaking around 7. What's wrong with this picture? Yet I keep doing it. This morning I thought "this is bordering on stupid." You think?!
Yes, I could respond to the rest, but won't. Why? Because I have to answer some damn questions on my blog a friend knows I have absolutely no time to address. *Looks around garage for Leah ass kickin' boots.*
Yes, I still love you.
XO
Whomper is a cutie!!
I sure can relate to the overload of caffeine, then anxiety...
I find that I am wearing less makeup some days. Depending on my work schedule. I used to never leave the house without makeup, but ahh...now if I am not working it might just be a little blush, eyeliner and lipstick. But, like everyone else, I have a huge bag full of everything but the kitchen sink,LOL.
Great fun, Leah!!
xoxo
Hi Suze!!
I can relate to the make up thing, I have tons of it and rarely wear it, but I still buy more. I have it for "just in case" I want to wear some. But since I am no longer working, it just seems to not be important anymore. I just say that if someone doesn't like the way I look than they don't need to look. I think that is just a way to say that I don't care anymore. But sometimes I put it on just to feel good.
But I had my granddaughters hamster for a while, then Wendy became my hamster, I just loved that little thing, would just play with her everyday. One day she somehow got out of her cage and then our cat brought me a "gift", the way that cats do. He was so proud, I could have brought him as a gift to hubby in that moment.
I kept the cage and would just look at it and miss her. A few weeks ago granddaughter who is now older just got another hamster and has taken the cage away. I told her she better take care of this one because I would not do it again. The cat is still here. He is lucky.
God bless.
Hi Leah,
Was just at Megan's and am not sure if you saw the invitation that I sent to you too. It is in the "sock contest" post, but I will send it again, and please pass it on to any others who might want to join in. Take care and thank you.
GHOST ENCOUNTERS OF THE REAL KIND!!
You're invited to please join us in the fun and post a real ghost story this Friday the 13th. Then post the title at Auntie's site at http://intheyearofthedog.blogspot.com/ or Mrsupole's Place at www.mrsupole.com/ to link up with others. We should have a spooky good time. Lets see who can out spook who.
The ghosts are gonna love this and so will you.
Please share this with as many ghost loving fans as you can.
Thank you,
Auntie and Mrsupole
Maria--that's it, the smell of summer--even more than warm wind in the pines and corn on the cob, chlorine smells of summer!!!
savannah--xo back! I'm glad you get it...
MJ--Vampiress that you are...
Brandy Rose--I posted a pic for you, but that's Whomper before he became oddly gargantuan! His fur is rather disreputable as well...
my mom keeps telling me to brush him...
Megan--how big was Buster? As big as his name? I bet Whomper would enjoy a caged hamster match...
Bob--all my lists consist of stuff that is desperately unimportant. That's the beauty of it. And I'm very prurient! I want to know six things about you!
Walker--haha! on the gasoline. I know other folks who dig it too. And as for the Whomper-guinea pig question, my husband has been asking that for months!
Baino--what is it with our enormous makeup bags? Seems to be universal...
Shife--you wear "Good to Go" too? I would've pegged you as a "Breathless."
Kylie--probably better in the book, I'd be so chagrined if I weren't, but...it's a big but...
as for the '90s eyeliner, well, that stuff can be so sentimental...
Suzy!!!! I know, I know, I screwed you with this damn meme, but hey, inquiring minds and all...plus I'm trying to trick you into posting somethin' for us again...xo
Gig!!!-- hi dear. Yup, our ginormo-makeup bags. SO funny, isn't it?
Mrsupole--oh nooooo! Poor Wendy! Poor you! Evil but well-meaning cat! How too tragic...no kidding, I really love Whomper, so I understand, that must've been awful...
How's the subway vs the taxi working out? Do you have to walk a lot to get to it? I started using the bus a lot more after marriage.
Idle Devil--we live in a neighborhood that happens to be a hub for nearly all the subway lines in the city, so it makes it a lot easier. I used to take the subway everywhere when I was still working--then more recently, I started taking taxis. But they're too expensive, and the drivers are horrible for the most part!!
Buster was a big little boy. And wicked fast and wily. I have a scar on my hand from when he didn't want to get caught that one time.
He CHEWED THROUGH his plastic house to escape. More than once. We had to switch to the wire cage just to stop him getting crazy indigestion!
Meh... I paint myself up like a French whore. But only on work days, and if I have a date. If I don't have a date, I go all nakey face.
Our hamster has grown to incredible proportions too. Why? I don't get it. He's nearly the same size as the guinea pig.
I hope I win the socks.
Karen--you are so making me laugh lately. Just something in your turns of phrase. You've really got the comedic mojo.
Okay, it took me forever, but I did it! Six things about me over at my blog.
