You Talkin' to Me?

I've been evil lately.  EVIL.  I am in a foul temper, hating the world.  If one more person does something stupid around me, I'm gonna blow.

Poor Sarge has been catching so much shit.  Although he is one of the intelligent ones, and as such I continue to respect him, being the grown-up I live with, he's still in the line of fire.  Neither of us is a ray of sunshine, but I've got him beat all hollow in the Hater/Cynic contest.

Last night, as I was gearing up for a tirade, Sarge looked at me with scared eyes and said,

"Sometimes I feel like I'm married to Travis Bickle."

It derailed the rant temporarily, and I laughed.  Hey, I take that as a compliment!

Then he delivered the blow.

"...mixed with Frank Booth from 'Blue Velvet.'"

"Don't you fucking look at me."

I cannot argue with the assessment, but it's somehow so much less flattering...

Maybe tomorrow I'll wake up feeling like Errol Flynn in "Robin Hood."  But I doubt it.  Pass the nitrous oxide.

Sometimes ya just gotta smack down a little fear in the hearts of those around you. Lends credence to your street cred. Here's the bottle of juice. You can have the whole thing!~

Has anyone told you that it is hard to get to your site now. Sometimes I get an "operation abort" message and it kicks me out. I can ususally get in after a few attempts or coming back later. I have noticed this same problem at a few other sites.

interesting, sugar! seriously, i have been short, tactless and moderately foul to the MITM and miss daisy this past week with absolutely no patience at all. is it seasonal? *sigh* xoxox

(here's hoping tomorrow is a better day...*she said in her best scarlett o'hara voice*)

Hi baby. I saw your rant on another blog and hurried here. Oh honey. I don't have the words, you know. Just know I love you so, we all do. Some days are so hard baby, but we're all here. We're all here.

I love you so.

I think we all have those moments and because are spouses are usually the closet to us, they know exactly how to push the knife in a little deeper.

Hope your week goes better and you have nice one.

I too am getting the same message as Ronda. It keeps taking me forever to get on a lot of blogsites and it took me about 5 tries to get here. I was determined. I finally am getting a little energy to visit everyone and the dang "operation abort" thingy keeps popping up and then shutting down that page. I am actually glad to see that I am not the only one having that problem. I thought my computer was sick along with me.

Give Sarge a big hug and that might help.

God bless.

Leah,

Travis Bickle and Frank Booth? I ain't feeling that vibe Leah. Whatever has caused this temporal disturbance, I'm hoping Sarge understands what's needed.

The comparison to Travis tells me that Sarge finds himself in an uncomfortable place.

I think the cool thing about relationships is that they can be off kilter and within the dynamic of two people interacting, it's still, "all good".

So it's cool if you've been evil lately, because you're not an evil woman.

As Yoda would say, "There is a disturbance in the Force" and yet he didn't seek to squash it; he accepted and embraced it. So exercise the freedom in you to handle things as best you can; however you can.

Cause you're really not an evil woman. Sarge will no doubt give you a treat for this early Halloween trick.

In defence of Dennis Hopper's character in Blue Velvet, he did have a nice taste in music, always playing his nice Roy Orbison records.

Ronda!--thanks for the juice! I definitely smacked down a little fear in the heart of Sarge...lol...

I'm not sure what's going on with my blog, it's so weird! Sometimes when I publish, it takes quite awhile to show up in the blogrolls, so there is definitely something hinky. I'll go check blogger to look at the "bug" list.

Savannah--maybe it is the season! I mean, it's so glorious outside, and sometimes the contrarian in me rebels against Springtime! Today there is a giant used book sale at Hedgie's school, and I intend to go there and drown my sorrows in 50 cent books! I'm already chirking up!

Pearl!--alas, it was more like a week of Travis Bickle, but today looks sunnier on the psychological front so I'm hoping!

Brian--I am so thankful for Sarge, who understands me and all my many wonderful moods. He is often funny in just the right way--we both have the same dark sense of humor. Long marriages, while having their down moments, are a blessing too.

Suzy!--thank you sweetie. You know how it is. I just tried to inject a note of humor into the bad feelings...or rather, poor Sarge did!
xo

Bob!--you made me giggle! I love Hannibal Lecter. In a funny way, he always struck me as sort of pleased with his life...so in that way the comparison wouldn't have been a good one this past week. Although I could see Sarge getting desperate and trussing me up and carting me around on a furniture dolly...it would have served me right!

Kylie--if you haven't seen "Taxi Driver" (that's the Travis Bickle reference), you probably should, if you don't mind gruesomeness. Ditto with "Blue Velvet." Both noir, gritty, gruesome. Just my style!

mago--ditto what I said to Kylie! You should watch "Taxi Driver" and "Blue Velvet," but only if you have a good stomach for grim films...

Megan--don't worry, I've got no beef with you! lol. I went back and looked at the pic of the madly grinning Travis with his guns, God that was a scary movie. I'm feeling a little more even-tempered today...

xo

Mrsupole--it's so good to see you up and about! I'm glad you're feeling better this week. That was quite a doozy of a flu! Like me, last year. It took forever to get over it...now it's just a distant, unpleasant memory...

I will make absolutely certain to give Sarge a hug! He will thank you.

Hi U! Everything you say is very wise, very right. I do think Sarge and I can be "off-kilter" like you say and still be totally fine. Sometimes one of us has to step up to the plate more than the other, though...but yes! there has most definitely been a disturbance in the force this week! You have nailed it.

Emerson--yes! Frank did have good taste in music. Actually, David Lynch had awesome taste in music--all his movie soundtracks are great.

CocoDivaDog said...

Girrrrl,
You are too young to go through those nasty spells of perimenopause.

Suzanne said...

Oh dear God, Emerson's here? That man's wacky. He's as wacky as Mike 129. Too funny. Have you met Mike? Mikes a Stanford grad and an engineer (what's new!), and really sorta funny. Don't engage him too much cuz he's sorta snarky. But you would inailate him with big words. (Leah, my hero!!!)

Hi honey. Just checking in to see if hubby's still alive. Baby, lay off the ass pedal. I've made some tea and scones. Sit your ass down and knock it off.

I thought of you and Heggie today. I looked out and saw the Butterfly Bush in full bloom. I have lots, but the purple one, wow. It's had to climb high to deal with my horrendous neglect. It must be close to 18-20 feet high. It's simple gorgeous. I have Heggie's little bitty wee one here. When you pull your act together, give me a date and I'll try to time mailing perfectly .

Love you darling. Hold on. And Sarge, come here honey. Big hug. You're gonna be fine. I'll distract her!!! I have Bon-Bons.

XO

You know sometimes a major tanty is what it takes to clear the head and relieve the stress. Just go off! I'm probably going to have one this afternoon, either that or a job search teary? Know any old men with a heart condition?

The worst thing that Bing ever called me was a Stepford Wife. I was trying so hard to be more agreeable and nice, to be sweeter. And it was killing me. Finally, she said, "You know if I wanted a Stepford wife, I would have hooked up with one. I like your sarcastic self, so come back home now."

And it sure felt good.

I see your Travis Bickle moment and raise you a Joan Crawford moment.

DAMMIT.

The worst type of foul mood is when you don't even know what caused it, you're being thoroughly nasty to your nearest and dearest for no obvious reason whatever. Probably some weird metabolistic quirk. Hope the chemistry shifts in a better direction soon.

Hi Leah!I know what you mean.I've been feeling tired those past 3 days and really irritated and so the way I was talking to my man..Hum..well,thanks heavens a drink,a good night sleep(no it isn't working, waking up tired) but sex is a nice way to cool you down I guess!Have a nice day :)

I know. I'm the same way. Yesterday Kristen asked me, Why are you so crabby lately??? I snapped at her after she asked me if she could go online on her new phone, and I said no, and she pressed me for why not. I went on a rant about how she is never happy with the things I do give her and always wants more. I told her that scared me and that she doesn't need to have EVERYTHING, Jesus!!!!

I get like that more often than I like to admit.

Thank God for blogs. And blogger friends who let us know from time to time that it is ok to have these moods, that everyone has them. Some are more up front about it than others.

Love you, sweetie, and this too shall pass.

Ha ha! You do that too? The old so-and-so mixed with so-and-so. Normally it's when we see someone on t.v. and they're conjuring up other faces in our minds.

Bickle and Booth - that's low!

Kat

(I get that diffuse the situation with humour too. It's always temporary, isn't it?)
