F!@#$ You Facebook...I Mean, I Love You Facebook

School's back in session, Hedgehog is reasonably happily ensconced, the household is under control, and it's time for me to hunker down and finally write my mother-f-ing dissertation and become Dr. N. It is loooong overdue. I may never use it for anything, but I want that Ph.D.

So with that in mind, what do I do but find yet another distraction. And this one is a doozy. Facebook, you alluring aweful tool of the devil. One day in and already I've found and talked to several dear old friends with whom I've been incommunicado for literally decades. I even found a pic on my grade-school alma mater's Facebook group of me in lower school, all dudded out in plaid bell bottoms.

But it's also a strength-sapping vortex. I feel my resistance weakening...

Peter--thus far unable to resist, I've added you as a friend...

Fay, it's incredible isn't it? Although she's a long drink of water in comparison to me...

Thanks MJ...you are in fact one of the many distractions!!!!

ah... the evils of crackspace and lamebook... good luck with that... "just say no", right?

(cause that worked so well in high school, didn't it?)

OH NOOOOOO!!! Don't get sucked into the Facebook vortex! You'll never get out!

I got sucked into that about year ago and it's all I ever did. I rarely went out. My "friends" kept me busy all day long with those stupid quizzes and Super Poke Me! and Stickers and ACKKKK!!!

I'm much better now. I'm just addicted to blogging. And no, it's not the same. IT'S NOT!!!!

Zack, I think I'll have to create an amalgam of that--Crackbook.

RC--actually, I do think blogging is infinitely better. After all, it's writing, right?

I actually have found some people that I'm glad to be in touch with, but I don't know, if any of them sends me another f-ing plant, I might not be friends with them any more...

Good luck with your dissertation dear. Nothing will overcome tan obstacle like that but bareknuckled typing words and stuff onto blank pages.

Best wishes,

Skeeter

Hi everyone! Look, all our friends are here!

Facebook. Never tried it. Think I should with my schedule?! What's so terrific about it?

I'm with Skeeter. Knock off all the distractions and get down to the serious business of becoming a doctor. Maybe you'll help someone someday with all the crap you have stored in your brain!

Just stopped by again and realize you deleted your other blogs. Hummmmmm. Housecleaning?

Wow, what a co-inkie-dinkie, posts almost 12 hours apart. I wonder what that says about a Leo. Hummmmmmm.

Oh, and by the way, I'm not going to call until my headaches subside (I have another one today) because talking on the phone hurts. I'm writing only because my fingers don't!

Hope you're having a good day.

XO

Facebook and MySpace were banned and are forbidden at our house.

RC? I'd like to say congratulations on your recovery. LOL

Hi all! I have to say, in an addendum to my cursing out of Facebook, that I have made contact with three very dear old friends now and, in an extreme about-face, must sing its praises...it's been amazing to be able to talk to people I've missed desperately, but just lost touch with...

xoxo to all

Baby, what the hell is face book all about? Convince me.

You can't resist facebook. The quicker you embrace it, the better off you will be. Mark Zuckerburg rules us all.
