WOULD NEVER HAVE GUESSED sorry about the caps (again) as i just told brian, internet gremlins are making me shout today. have you got new colours? you do dont you? nice xx
You crack me up. I love that hill. Is that Lake George? Lake George is my favorite, but I can't afford a house near it. I used to love driving through town with my grandmother. Traffic was so heavy in the summer way back in the 70's, so I can't even imagine what it must be like now.
Well honey, I hit the link and let me tell you, I'm the "Crostata Queen." I learned to make them about 15 years ago and never looked back. I rarely make pie now because crostatas are easier, faster and equally yummy! If it wasn't 107 degrees out right now, I'd make one. And I'll certainly try yours when temps cool a bit.
You might try this combo one day: Apples (I like Granny's) Honey rather than sugar Cinnamon Nutmeg Bit of vanilla Tiny amount of butter A little fresh lemon...
Perfection. No I don't have measurements because I just wing it and it always turns out yummy. Use a classic apple pie recipe and replace the sugar with less honey (google how to do that).
The crostata post was terrific.
XO P.S. Thanks for your support darlin'. Hope you're having a wonderful time upstate.
Hi Suzanne, that is indeed Lake George. It's INSANE in the surrounding towns during the summer. But the lake itself is so huge, and the land so well-protected, that there's tons of wilderness right nearby, you know? I love that darn lake. And yes, the real estate is madness. We're not on Lake George though.
That crostata looks to die for, eh? That blog is Faycat; she always has great recipes (many vegetarian). I made a HUGE fruit salad tonight--watermelon, peaches, nectarines, blueberries, apples. Hedgehog made a "sauce" with honey, orange juice, lime juice, and watermelon juice. It's chilling right now for my night-time snack. Mmmm...
