As someone equally besotted with books, I was extremely moved by the post, by the effect TKAM had on him and by the charming letters he received from Harper Lee. It must be so gratifying for an author when a book so inspires a reader like that.

Well since you ask then I will go. I love books but it seems like I spend so much time on the computer and my iPhone that I have not been reading my books like I should. I need to start reading a book when I take a bath, it is so relaxing. Thank you for this link.

A very fine example for the worth of the written, and its permanency.
How are You?
I recently came across a list, 20 books every teenager should read by 16, and that book was on it. Thing is, I have only read about 5 off that list, and honestly, I can only remember 1 of them. The others, I just know I read them. I think I read them too young, too young to truly comprehend the subject matter (my mom was telling me about me reading Jane Austen at age nine...I thought it was older, but it sure explains why I thought they were hugely boring for so many years, lol), so none of it stuck.
My other issue is how physically affected I get by books...and the subject matter of TKAM is guaranteed to bring on palpitations, lightheadedness, and hyperventilation (not joking..I nearly passed out in a bookstore once, skimming through an upsetting passage in a book.) I can't handle racism, inequality and injustice. It's pathetic.
Reading that post, though, is making me think I should screw up the courage, and give it another go. Maybe.
Princess sent me over and now I know why.... come see me.
